Bon Voyage Work!

March 30, 2015 by J&J 4 Comments

Tomorrow is Jake's last day of work at his job of over 6 years. His job is probably the best one anyone could ask for, and he wanted to go out in style. Plus I know he will miss this fantastic office and even better view!

Last year, I made a cake for Jake's boss and had SO MUCH FUN with it, I decided it would be fitting to make another one for his official "Bon Voyage" from work!

So yesterday morning, I made a double-chocolate fudge cake with homemade cream cheese frosting. I then went to town decorating with various found items and fondant to bring the cake to life. Topped with a "Bosco" sailboat, treasure chest, chocolate coins, hammock, trees, crab and shells, the cake looks more like a tropical paradise that we hope to embark on in real life!

Though it will be a hard transition leaving our past "working world" to our new one, we are both sure that it is the absolute right decision for us.

Jill says she got it all from Grandpa Joe.
